Elveden CofE Primary Academy celebrates after excellent SIAMS inspection

A Suffolk village school has been given an excellent rating in its Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report.

In the findings for Elveden Primary Academy, part of the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, it said the site’s vision for pupil to ‘Let your light shine’ encouraged hope, aspiration and excellence for all.

Headteacher Lorna Rourke said: “We are extremely proud of our school and our deeply embedded Christian vision which has a positive impact on our children, families, staff and governors.

“To have this recognised by SIAMS is incredible and reinforces the importance of our school ethos and values. The children at Elveden Academy really are a family.”

Some of the key findings of the report included that the school had compassionate staff, ensuring pupils thrive and are enabled to become courageous advocates for positive change and that the school is an ‘exceptionally inclusive and caring community’.
